We Moved!
We Are excited to share with you how God has been leading us!
After sixteen years in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista, we asked the Lord, “Where to now?” We were up for anything and anywhere. As we waited and listened, we realized that our jobs weren’t changing and that we weren’t going to move very far geographically. He has led us to an older home on the West side of town, and we are excited to share with you our journey!

God Spoke to Us about Our Next Right Steps. Here’s What We Believe He Said:
“Go to the home I will show you”
We knew it was time to move; No more stairs for us; Our roles with YWAM are not changing
“A place for exiles”
We’ve rented rooms and discipled 17 different people in our home over the years. God is saying, “Be intentional about this”
“Stretch out your tents”
It makes normal sense to downsize, as we are becoming empty nesters, yet God said, “upsize”
“The Promised Land”
From “manna” only to a “farming” type revenue stream; We have built an apartment in our home to rent.
And so we moved! We’ve purchased a home about nine miles west of where we live today. It’s an older home that’s been neglected so it’s in need of repair. We believe God has been speaking that as we restore the home, He’ll be restoring the lives of the renters we take in with us.
Of course, what you see here is only a little bit of the story! God has been saying so much more:
I Am your provider (Deut. 2:7). With the sale of our current home, we have the down payment. Additionally, generous donors have given to help us begin to restore the home and create rentable space.
Be strong and courageous (Deut. 31:6) God has been whispering the same phrase he repeated to Joshua.
See the land like Joshua and Caleb (Numbers 13:26-30) The inspections revealed a number of issues, and we worried that this property was filled with ‘giants’ we couldn’t overcome. But Joshua and Caleb also saw the land filled with milk and honey.
See yourselves like I do (Numbers 13:32) We were tempted to believe that we couldn’t do what God is calling us to do, and so he reminded us that even though we are not contractors, we do have the ability to manage projects and use wisdom.
Birthing isn’t easy God is reminding us that pioneering a ministry isn’t always easy. There has been, and there will be sleepless nights, laboring in prayer, and physically too.
We Are Calling it HopeHaven
As we searched for the right house, we had the impression that God wanted to name the place we will create. Kay Charlotte felt strongly that we are to create a hope-filled environment for all who live with us and visit. Craig felt that we were to create a safe place for spiritual exiles and refugees to reconnect on their journey — a haven. And so we are naming this home, HopeHaven, we hope you can come and visit soon!
